About us

Dr. Clara Haneul Yoon and Drew Henderson are recognized for their innovative programming that reframes the classical canon alongside contemporary and cross-genre repertoire. In performance, the duo is known for maximizing the expressive and structural capacity of the traditional violin-guitar ensemble to familiar masterworks and new music alike.

Their approach as an ensemble draws directly from their distinct individual expertise. Dr. Yoon’s research on the socio-spatial mechanics of live performance focuses on designing listening environments that actively support calm, focused attention and challenge the (often) rigid conventions of the traditional recital hall. This stands alongside Henderson’s ongoing work as an acclaimed performer and Billboard-charting producer and arranger, whose digital projects and custom 8-string guitar transcriptions continue to bring uncompromising music to millions of listeners and fans worldwide.

At the heart of their work, the duo delivers performances that remain entirely accessible. They maintain an active international footprint as performers, lecturers, and masterclass clinicians across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their recent recordings, including Astor Piazzolla’s Café 1930 and Nightclub 1960, are available to watch and hear on YouTube and CBC Radio.

Backstage and on tour, the duo’s routine relies on their mutual necessity for strong espresso, a shared love of dogs, and a mandatory tradition of pre-performance sourdough slices.
